Il Discorso delle Comete

It has been composed on astronomy but more in general for the human being that has always observed the sky and has tried to draw and bring it to us here on earth in a million ways. i thought of the cello as a star, a shooting star, because as he too has a head and a tail, he can imitate the stars deep nature, to follow its path and break into the sun, inquiring on the endless tangles of its harmonies. the fist composition"creazione", as a cadenza introduces different qualities of sound, and also sees the influence of baroque music, and not only. it is also influenced by compositions of michelangelo galilei, brother of galileo, and vicenzo galilei (his father), that i have come to know throughout my studies on different styles.
The voice that sings along this voyage, using original texts, accompanies a still open dibate: the search of truth and knowledge of the human being. music and voices blend in musical metaphores, looking for a connection between reality and truth.
Questions, doubts, ideas, hypothesis that always change between existences variety.

Echi e follie
[70'] for cello and electronics
The idea of "echi e follie" came to existence during my live concerts , in which i usually play classic peices and try to give them a touch of modernity. i decided to use marin marais's variations on the folia theme, and develope them in various directions.
its entirely for cello, and all its tecniques. the music is very fisical, and i tried to give it emotional freedom in order to create a connection between the cellos voice and the cellists one. "echi e follie" is an outpouring of different emotions. also in matteo levaggi's work you can see this very important feature.
